But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight- Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
We’ve arrived at the end of our beautiful poem. Santa Clause has delivered toys to the children in the home and drove out of sight to the next house, wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and good night!
It is bittersweet to come to the end of this advent calendar where we have enjoyed reading a Christmas classic and finding the Biblical truths it can teach us.
I find the end of the Christmas season bittersweet as well. Going back to regular life seems so mundane and devoid of the warm cozy feelings of Christmas, glittering decor and landscapes, and the growing anticipation each day brings as Christmas draws near.
But, tomorrow is Christmas Day, and we have so much to celebrate!
The birth of our risen savior, who is fully God and fully man, sent to earth as a free gift for each of us to pay the price for our sin so we can have eternity with God in heaven! Amen!
This good news never fades or goes away, but is part of our daily life.
Christmas will get packed in boxes and put back in dusty attics and basements where the memories fade for another whole year.
But we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us each day, teaching, guiding, reminding, and helping us as it convicts our hearts of sin and wrong doing.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
This verse sums up life with Christ and life without.
The enemy is not creative and always strives to steal, kill, and destroy. Aligning with him brings a life of sadness and hopelessness.
Jesus was born so you can have life and have it to the fullest! Life in him is living in the light of his love and protection.
It isn’t perfect, but in our imperfection, he is perfected in us.
I pray that tomorrow, Christmas day, no matter what happens, you can bask in his glory and the fact that he chose to be clothed in flesh and blood and left his place in heaven to die a tortured death so you can have life everlasting.
He did all this while we were still sinners and didn’t deserve it. Wow.
Let’s glorify him together all day and sing his praises! Amen!
I hope you make this advent calendar a tradition that you can come back to each year and revisit. Add my website to your calendar phone on Thanksgiving day so you don’t miss the fun again next year!
God bless you my friends, and don’t forget to snoop around the blog for encouragement in all things homeschooling all year long.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
SURPRISE PRESENT
May you be blessed by this beautiful song and ponder the true meaning of Christmas as we celebrate such a holy day.
