This totally describes me during Christmas (and most of the year truth be told)! Well…I wish I was incredibly clean, tidy, and organized anyway! That is my dream!
And when the gauzy colored lights of Christmas fill our days and nights, we want to have everything ready for the season and be snuggled up by the fire eating a sweet, pink-frosted angel cookie with sprinkles!
Keep your expectations of yourself low. I mean it. We amp up what “needs” to be done at Christmas and kill the joy of the whole darn thing.
Pair down everything to a select few things that: glorify God serve your family serve others
Make choices and say “no” to almost everything, so your “yes” will be meaningful.
Make a list with your kids of what memories they would like to make this Christmas.
Pick one new thing to do that glorifies God. I’ll have lots of ideas during our 27 days together!
