Beast Academy online subscription. My boys (2nd & 4th grade) enjoy the program and are showing real engagement with the lessons and concepts. A year subscription is $96 for one student and $48/year for a sibling. Lessons are taught by recorded videos and engaging text in a comic book style. The math work is fairly advance and challenging, encouraging complex problem solving and mental math strategies. This specific format is used for levels 2-5 but AoPS has other curriculum options for other grades. I love that my boys enjoy this challenging format so much that they ask to “play it” often!
CURRENT
Singapore Math US Edition — I used textbook, workbook, and home instructor’s guide. It was easy to implement and provided a challenge for my son. It makes you think about solving math problems in more than one way. I photocopied the workbook pages so we can reuse it for my other children. I liked that the home instructor’s guide gave you ideas for using manipulatives to teach the math concepts. We used Math-U-See for Kindergarten. I liked it for that year because it was a straightforwad, logical approach to math. Very easy to implement. But it was monotonous for my child . I bought both curriculums used and spent around $40 total for the Singapore.
CURRENT
Saxon, 1st and 2nd, $100+, textbook, yes its easy following along in the teachers guide, the teachers guide can be reused and the parent would just need to purchase new student worksheets
CURRENT
Mathematical Reasoning from The Critical Thinking Company. Grades k-2 so far. Around $35. Workbook. Yes. No. I like that it’s just a simple workbook, with all the teaching in it (no textbook or manual). In the younger grades concepts have to be explained by the parent, and older grades will probably need occasional parent support too, so parents not comfortable doing that shouldn’t use it.
CURRENT
Singapore US Edition – Textbooks. The textbooks, teachers guide, and manipulatives are reusable when you purchase new workbooks.

Favorite math curriculum is Alpha omega life pacs. Used it for 3rd, 4th and 5th. Aprox cost $20-$50, format textbooks/workbooks. Yes, very easy to implement. It can be used k-12
CURRENT
TGATG, $50, grades K-5, paper, some video support, hands-on. KEYS to Series (factions, decimals, measurement, geometry, percent, algebra), 4 bucks a booklet, great middle school Bridge between basic math and high school math, Saxon Math high school for homeschool
CURRENT
Life of Fred. Ages 5-11 so far but intend to keep going. Under $20 per book but multiple books may be needed in a year as you move at the child’s pace however they are non-consumable so that reduces the cost per use too. Text book, answer on separate paper. Yes, just open and read the section to/with your child, only prep is moving the bookmark. Yes can be used for everybody. It is probably best for auditory learners or kids who learn through stories, should be avoided by people who prefer busy work/worksheets. We have used math as a reward!!! “Finish your dinner and we will do an extra lesson of Fred” what other math book lets you say that.

Math u See; k-12; DVD, text & workbook; 100+; simple to use; used for all students in the home; This is my favourite because all my kids from advanced to special needs do well with it.
CURRENT
Abeka, $50, used for my kindergartener and found it easy to use. I really like the structure of the lessons plans and I don’t feel like I have to do every activity if my daughter understood the material. If you’re a very organized person Abeka is easier to use.
CURRENT
The Good and the Beautiful K & 2nd, $50ish, easy to implement, not all students it is per grade. I love the manipulatives and the art built into it. I love how they tell stories while teaching math. The worksheets are fun and everything is so beautiful.
CURRENT
Right Start Math, kids were 5-8,@$100 plus the initial investment in a manipulative set, textbook and workbook, open ‘n go, very easy to use with each kid on his/her own level. It teaches the kids the why in math and how to work with big numbers in their head, no memorization of facts but learning through games
CURRENT
Abeka, K-1st $100+ if buying extras; textbook; easy to teach, lesson planning done for you. I love the variety and it is not tedious like other curricula
CURRENT
Teaching with Textbooks 7th thru 10th $65approx, Used the CD only, very easy to use, all students should be able to use. This fit my son better than Saxon which we used for 6th grade as a book only curriculumn
CURRENT
Math-U-See, $100+, textbooks/DVD, up to a certain level YES, yes, it worked well for my kids and it is a well designed curriculum, someone who wants lots of repetition. My kids are college grads and a high school senior.

Essentials in Writing; grade 6+; $100+; DVDs, text & workbook; I like this program for students grade 6 and up but lower ages require a lot more parental involvement; used for older students in the home; My favourite because the kids like it and it covers a reasonable amount of skills without under or over doing it.
CURRENT
Abeka, I love their approach and like the foundation that was laid for my kindergartener.
CURRENT
The Good and the Beautiful, PreK, K, 1st, and 2nd,$50 for printed text, free for online version that you can print yourself. Very easy to implement. Easier if you buy the printed version though. It is per grade curriculum. I love how art history and creativity is built into lessons throughout and how it reviews previous instructions. All the lessons and the reader included with the curriculum have good morals and talk about good things. It also feels more modern then other products we have looked at with old language that people don’t really use anymore.
CURRENT
Logic of English (it includes everything, even reading 🤪). Kids ages 5-8. I bought the PDFs when on sale, for all levels but cannot remember how much they were 🙈 I would say over $100 for Foundations and Essentials together. Textbook and workbook with some free apps on their website, very open ‘n go and easy to use (I am not a native American but my girls are). It can be used with multiple kids, but best if used everyone on his/her own level/speed. The best ever!!! It teaches the why behind the rules and brings joy in learning!

3-READING RESPONSES

All About Reading worked well for my 1st grader who was progressing his reading ability from early readers to chapter books. The curriculum included a teachers manual, student workbook, readers, phonics and sight word cards and an app for lesson practice and cost about $150 I think. The lessons were scripted and only required a little prep for the activities, so they were pretty easy to implement. This is meant for a single student at once but can be re-used in future with a new student workbook. My son enjoyed the activities and the simple lessons did seem to impact his reading fluency and decoding skills substantially. After finishing level 2 he went on to read a whole series of simple chapter books.

Teach Your Child to REad in 100 Easy Lessons. — It is open and go and once you get into the rhythm of lessons, each one doesn’t have to last long. Each lessons builds on the previous for constant review. However, it does move quickly. I also use BOB Books for extra practice. The book was only about $10 used and I get the BOB books from the library.
CURRENT
All About Reading. Grades k-2 so far. $100+. Textbook/hands on. No. It involves quite a bit of prep, but it can be done in advance and is easy to do then. My kids have been very successful with this program, so it seems worth it! It can be reused, but not done together really. This program gives a solid foundation, builds slowly enough that kids become very confident, and keeps them engaged.

4-HISTORY RESPONSES

My boys (1st and 4th grade) enjoyed the Story of the World Ancient Times curriculum. It includes and teacher manual, history reader, student workbook and an optional cd with all book lessons recorded as an audio book. I forget the cost but these are often available used. We all loved listening to the audio book lessons and discussing the chapters orally with the prompts in the teacher manual. The map activities were enjoyed by my boys and there were so many optional add ins that really make it flexible and engaging. This can be used for elementary students all together, with them accomplishing grade level writing prompts or activities.
CURRENT
Sonlight Curriculum – I have used this for preschool through high school, and I just love the approach. It is an investment ($), but it is reusable for many children – great for large families like ours! I love that it comes scheduled out for you (saves me time and energy), and everything makes connections in your children’s learning – the living books, the engaging stories, the ties back to copywork and grammar assignments… I love everything about it!

World’s Story text with Masterbooks guide; $50; text and workbook; easy to implement; suitable for middle school for most kids and high school for my special needs kids; using for all my kids; I find this curriculum goes into enough depth to give the students a good grasp on the topic without over simplifying or getting bogged down with obscure details and dates.

Sonlight, Pre-k through 2nd, $100+, living books, easy to implement, yes used for a lot or all in the family, I love the focus on missions and missionary stories and reading about people in real life situations. I think it helps history feel more real.

Used Sonlight with kids 3-8yo, but will take a break from SL since my girls fall under the new age requirement for each level with the new recommendations. Comes together with bible/literature and geography. Not sure it works the best for us. Over $400 in all. Can be used will multiple kids. Living books (Charlotte Mason philosophy – but if I could start it from the beginning I would choose Alveary instead of SL, seems so more CM)

5-UNIT STUDIES RESPONSES

Our favorite curriculum resource of all is Gather Round unit studies. They cost $50 for a full family set of digital lessons per unit, allowing you to print whichever grade levels you need at home. The teacher guide can be printed or used digitally. The lessons are intended to be read from the teacher guide and students have note booking pages to complete in their student notebooks along with experiments or activities to do as a family. There is also an app where parents post relevant short educational videos to supplement the teachings, which are very helpful to keep kids engaged. There is also a suggested book list you can pick up from the library to use as read alongs or additional supplements. One of its key strengths is that you can teach all age levels at the same time from pre-k through high school!
CURRENT
KONOS character Curriculum! This is an older curriculum, but each unit is overwhelmingly thorough. It is a lot of work on the parent’s part to implement, but again it is very thorough with lots and lots of hands-on ideas and can be adapted to use with younger and older children at the same time.

7-SCIENCE RESPONSES

We used Berean Science In the Beginning this year for both my 1st and 4th grader. They enjoyed the very brief hands on lessons and we found it worked fairly well as an open and go curriculum, but I did order the optional lab kit so we would have the necessary supplies on hand. I loved how it presented science within the biblical worldview and the lessons were easily understood by my boys. I do not remember how expensive it was but I have often seen this for sale used.

Exploring Nature With Children or the Peaceful Preschool — both are developmentally appropriate for this age range of children. They use living books and lots of hands on activities.
